IMPROV CLASSES

A new schedule of classes to be posted soon!

Improvisation is a unique art form that teaches agreement, honesty, intelligence and support. Through this eight - week session you will learn how to be more spontaneous, find new ways to communicate and most importantly, learn how to adapt to ever-changing situations and your environment. The skills you hone in each class will also assist in enhancing your collaborative skills and make you a more confident public speaker. Along the way, you will meet new people and have a lot of fun!! These classes are open to all (provided you are over the age of 21). Join acclaimed improv veteran, Gary Schwartz, as you study the art of improvisation and get in touch with the performer inside of you!

About Gary Schwartz:

"Gary is a terrific teacher. I highly recommend his workshop." - Dan Castellaneta (the voice of Homer Simpson)

Multi-talented, award-winning actor, writer and director with more than 35 years experience teaching acting and improv to beginners and fellow professionals. Gary’s mentor and teacher was Viola Spolin, known as the mother of Improvisation. In the 1950’s, she and her son Paul Sills developed the first improv group in the United States that later became Chicago's famed Second City which produced such notable stars as; Dan Ackroyd, Gilda Radner, Mike Meyers, Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Alan Alda, Joan Rivers, John Candy, Chris Farley, Stephen Colbert and Jim Belushi. Gary began his association with Ms. Spolin in 1977. He has conducted hundreds of improvisation workshops to various groups and companies all over the world. He is co-founder and director of the award-winning Spolin Players, a group of established actors (including Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson) that has performed Improv in Los Angeles since 1988.

"Viola had genius and she shared it. Gary Schwartz continues to share her genius with integrity." - Valerie Harper

"Gary Schwartz was very close to Viola for years and one of her best students. I've had him in several workshops now and find he's the best side coach around, including me." - Paul Sills
